Why use me?

I understand how organisational requirements affect frontline practice and how practice realities can reveal problems with the policy or system itself.

My approach recognises that effective policy and practice must work together. Understanding the environments in which services operate, the team’s experience of these environments and practice and the experiences of young people who these services support, in addition to legislative and organisational requirements, matter.

Better foundations. Better practice. Better outcomes for young people.

Supporting young people well requires more than committed practitioners. It requires organisations to invest in the people who do the work, provide clear and effective frameworks to guide practice, and create environments where staff are equipped to respond to the complexities of their roles.

I believe that quality youth work and youth services begin with quality foundations. Policies must do more than satisfy requirements; they must support good practice. Systems must do more than establish expectations; they must enable staff to meet them. And organisational approaches must recognise that supporting young people well starts with supporting the people who work alongside them.

My consultancy brings together practical experience, evidence-informed approaches and a commitment to strengthening the relationship between policy, systems and practice. The aim is to help organisations build the foundations their staff need to work effectively, make sound decisions and provide thoughtful, high-quality support to young people.
